SlideShowPro Director is a server-side content management and image publishing system for both SlideShowPro for Flash and SlideShowPro for Lightroom. The application is installed either on your own web server (see Requirements) or hosted by us as part of a subscription package. The software allows you to upload both images and video, organize them into albums and/or galleries (which are simply collections of albums), assign image metadata like captions, titles, and hyperlinks, and retrieve web-optimized slideshow content for multiple slideshows.

The underpinning of Director is what we call its "on-demand image publishing system." When you publish a slideshow from either SlideShowPro for Flash or SlideShowPro for Lightroom that loads content from Director, Director formats -- on the fly -- web optimized duplicates of the originals you uploaded to fit your slideshow(s). This allows designers and developers to visually alter existing slideshows, or create new ones, any time they want without having to regenerate new imagery. It all happens automatically.
